Frequently Asked Questions

  • My office is located in Fishkill, NY, conveniently located off Route 9, close to I-84.

I am licensed in both New York and Massachusetts, so I can have virtual sessions with anyone who is located in either of these states.

  • During online therapy sessions, clients communicate with their therapist via a secure video conferencing platform that is fully HIPPA compliant. Sessions typically follow the same structure as in-person therapy, focusing on the client’s needs and goals. I ask that you find a private location, where you will not be interrupted, and that has strong internet connection.

  • I offer both in person and virtual sessions. We can meet whichever way feels best for you, and works best with your schedule.

Research shows that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy for many individuals. It offers flexibility and convenience making therapy more accessible, with less stress and requiring less time without the need for transportation.

  • I only take Aetna insurance in both NY and MA. I am able to provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance for out of network benefits if you have a different insurance provider.

I’m happy to offer a sliding scale rate if my fee of $200 per session is prohibitive.

  • During your first therapy appointment, you can expect to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and your personal goals. The therapist will likely ask questions about your background, current challenges, and any relevant history. This initial session is also a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for the therapist’s approach. It’s important to remember that this is a safe space, and the session will be focused on understanding your needs and building a foundation for future sessions.

  • I meet with clients once a week at the same time each week. Each client has a designated time slot to ensure consistency and personalized attention. Some clients may prefer to meet more frequently, such as twice a week, especially when addressing deeper issues or navigating challenging times.

  • The duration of therapy varies for each individual and depends on factors such as the nature of the issues being addressed, personal goals, and progress made in sessions. Some people may find that a several weeks or a few months of therapy is sufficient, while others may benefit from longer-term support. Together we can regularly assess your progress and determine the best timeline for your needs.
